In my opinion you'll get too easily banned on this board. For example does it really change anything if someone will be banned for short period because he has posted a couple of spam posts? After the ban time has elapsed, the banned member will probably just continue the spam (whatever is spam by definition on this board). Wouldn't it be just wiser to delete all spam posts and, if the spammer won't stop, then consider more severe methods to keep the user under control?
I know it's an annoyance for the admins to control spammers, but in my opinion banning everyone who has spammed or whatsoever WITHOUT A WARNING doesn't change anything. Why not just PM this user and warn him? I'd definitely have stopped posting those posts if you would have just given me a warning. In my opinion the user actually might change his behaviour if he would be noticed and threatened with a long ban.

Also my spam, or whatsoever it was, wasn't actually that bad except the post made in Rules section.
Then it seems you aren't familiar with 'u noop' jokes.Originally Posted by TheFluffy

Maybe on some big forum, but c'mon... if some admin is being strict on some other forum, it doesn't mean you should follow his footsteps on this forum. That is just too exaggerated. Being an admin doesn't mean you should be a bureaucrat.Originally Posted by TheFluffy
If you consider those posts as spam, then it's alright, but my spam posts, or whatsoever, were posted between 6th and 9th of Jan. Four posts in three days. The post I made in Rules section was a good reason to ban me, but those other posts... Hmph! Also, I didn't receive any warnings before I got banned. :L

In addition, this forum has no clear rules. Those rules in Rules section haven't been edited for years. Shouldn't it be updated to avoid contradictions?
Don't take this as a complaint, this is a great forum and I've enjoyed my stay but there's something you could improve a little.
P.S. This has nothing to do with Carlos' case.

Juhis, you can't mean that.General warnings are warnings too. We're not gonna warn each and everyone individually or we might as well make this a full time job. Besides, some people get mad if I delete their spam. (Bad joke, I know) Anyway, I didn't ban you because I wasn't following the footsteps of admins on other fora.
You may be the sweetest girl in the classroom, but when the teacher just asked everyone twice to keep their mouth shut and at that moment you yell "LALALA CORNFLAKES!!!!!" through the classroom, then yoú can go see the principal.

I assume you checked out the reasoning behind your banishment, right? -> TheFluffy

You also have to realize that bans will get proportionally longer as your repeat the offense. Yours was very minor obviously, and therefore only a small punishment. But if you were to do it again next week, the ban would be longer. So on, so on. I think it really does work well that way, to prevent spam.
